There’s a lot of conversation right now about enrollment, funding, and new programs across Texas. Early data from the state’s voucher rollout offers one clear signal: Texas families continue to choose their neighborhood public schools.
At the same time, school leaders are making complex decisions in full view of their communities by sharing data, inviting input, and asking hard questions along the way. That kind of transparency isn’t easy. It invites scrutiny, but it’s part of the responsibility that comes with leading a public institution.
We believe this is what good leadership looks like right now: not avoiding hard conversations, but inviting them.
