❌ Myth: Teachers can teach whatever they want.

✅ Truth: Texas public schools follow the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)—a state-mandated curriculum that ensures consistency and academic rigor across all schools.

❌ Myth: Public schools are indoctrinating students.

✅ Truth: The curriculum is set by the State Board of Education, focusing on academic integrity, critical thinking, and fact-based learning—not political agendas.

❌ Myth: Public schools are failing students.

✅ Truth: Texas boasts a 94% high school graduation rate. Students graduate ready for college, careers, and beyond, thanks to AP courses, career/technical programs, and more.

❌ Myth: Public schools don’t prepare students for the workforce.

✅ Truth: Texas public schools offer robust career and technical education (CTE) programs, equipping students with hands-on experience, industry certifications, and direct pathways to high-demand jobs. Many graduates enter the workforce immediately after high school, earning competitive salaries in fields like healthcare, IT, and skilled trades—often without student debt.
