As we close out the year, we keep coming back to one word: trust.

Trust is what makes a community rally for its schools. Trust is what allows leaders to communicate with clarity and confidence. And in a moment when public education faces coordinated attacks, and public perception is being shaped by people far from our classrooms, trust is not optional. It’s foundational.

At Friends of Texas Public Schools, our work goes beyond raising awareness. We are building trust, momentum, and a statewide network of Texans who believe in public education and are ready to defend it with facts, stories, and steady leadership.

That is why membership matters — not as a transaction or a pitch, but as an investment in the future story Texas tells about its public schools.

For districts, joining our network means you don’t have to shoulder the narrative work alone. You’re stepping into a cohort of ISDs committed to positive action, honest communication, and amplifying the truth about what’s happening in your classrooms.

Network members gain access to a Friends Texas Pod, an advocacy toolbox of messaging and storytelling resources, visibility and amplification, and strategic support when it’s time to communicate with your community.

For individuals and families, membership is a way to say: I don’t have to work in a school to fight for one. You become part of a growing statewide network, receiving updates, tools, invitations, and a seat at the table through the 8 Ways to Trust program.

Here is what we hope you hear most clearly: membership isn’t about buying in. It’s about showing up. Standing shoulder to shoulder with districts, families, alumni, and advocates so that the narrative about Texas public education is not written about us, but by us.
