Poll Reveals Texas Teachers' Struggles...

Recent findings from the Texas Teacher Poll conducted by the Charles Butt Foundation show many Texas teachers continue to face significant challenges. Financial concerns top the list, with many teachers expressing that they aren’t earning a living wage. In fact, the percentage of teachers pointing to lack of school funding as a significant issue has doubled since 2022.

Classroom sizes also remain a concern, with 62% of teachers saying they are too large to allow effective teaching. For those working with economically disadvantaged students, additional barriers—such as housing and food insecurity and a lack of resources for extracurricular activities—make it even harder for students to thrive.

Being a friend of Texas public schools means standing with our teachers and students as they navigate these harsh realities. While the challenges are clear, so is our shared commitment to finding solutions. Now more than ever, your voice and actions matter. Voting for candidates who prioritize public education, advocating for increased funding, and supporting initiatives that provide resources to schools and teachers are all ways we can make a difference. Rallying together as a community, we can help alleviate these burdens and create a brighter future for Texas students. Real change happens when we move from understanding the issues to taking meaningful action.
