Texas Public Schools Deliver Again!
Texas public schools are reaching more students—and helping even more of them graduate. According to the latest data from the Texas Education Agency, there were 403,301 students in the class of 2023—an increase of 7,073 students since 2022.
The graduation rate also saw a boost, rising from 93.5% to 93.7%. It’s a small but meaningful increase, especially while serving a larger student population. These gains speak volumes about the hard work of our students, the dedication of educators, and the strength of support from families and communities across the state.
Breaking it down further:
90.3% of students graduated within four years
3.1% continued their education beyond their expected graduation date
0.3% earned a Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE)
This progress is more than a statistic—it’s a reflection of what’s possible when we invest in public education and believe in the potential of every student. We’re proud to celebrate the continued success of Texas public schools.
