Black students in Texas top national 4th-grade math scores
Black 4th-graders in Texas ranked 1st in math scores nationwide in 2019, according to the Nation's Report Card. With an average score of 224 among Black students in America, the students in Texas averaged 9 points higher than their peers across the country.
